Kobuto

The Opportunist

  • Population: 60% Human, 30% Half-Elf, 10% Other
  • Climate Kobuto is a fairly mountainous nation marked by an unusually long rainy season. Some of the largest mountians in Acosta make there home in Kobuto, the peaks tucked in misty clouds where only a few dare step foot. Luckily thanks to the rain, most of Kobuto is covered by forest meaning they never have a shortage of lumber.
  • Description: The island country of Kobuto is a militaristic nation who’s people are very united and cohesive. During the rule of the Dis Empire, Kobuto was one of the only countries not completely taken over. This was due to the fact that Kobuto has most well organized army out of any country, and combined with the fact that Kobuto also has one of the strongest navies, it isn’t much of a stretch to see how they pulled this off. For as long as anyone can remember, Kobuto has been ruled by the Shogun, a person who rules the armies of Kobuto and the lands he owns with ruthless cunning. With every person in Kobuto serving some form of military service, Kobuto is almost always picking fights with nearby countries, or exerting their rule on trade routes among other things. Kobuto uses a slave caste which they barter from Silk to do most of the manual labor, among other things. These slaves are almost exclusively Half-Elf, and treated as livestock. This coupled with Kabuto’s xenophobic and introverted society has led to a caste system where Humans are at the top and Half-Elves are at the bottom. Right now Kobuto is in a prime location to exploit the fighting between Silk, Dis, and Neurotransia. Using their superior navy they control the channels between the three countries and use this to both their financial and tactical advantage.
  • Government: Feudal Militaristic Dictatorship, with the Shogun ruling everything. Noble clans fight for land and power but ultimately give fidelity to the Shogun.
